OUR STORY

Building event eco-systems for open source communities

We believe the future belongs to communities. Communities that share knowledge. Communities that solve problems together. Communities that believe innovation is stronger when it is open, collaborative and accessible to everyone.

That's why we exist.

WHY OPEN SOURCE

“We didn't begin our journey in open source. For over twenty years we built an award-winning international events company, delivering conferences, launches and experiences for global technology companies, governments, universities and institutions across Europe. By every conventional measure, we were successful. But eventually we asked ourselves a simple question. Were we creating experiences that mattered?

Working alongside Moodle's global community changed our perspective forever. For the first time, we experienced a community where collaboration mattered more than competition. Where knowledge was openly shared. Where success was measured not only by commercial results, but by the strength of the community itself. We realised something important. Open source isn't simply about software.

It's about people.

It's about trust.

It's about belonging.

It's about building something together that no single organisation could build alone”

Diego Fabra Founder CEO

We are Growth Partners, helping open source organisations create the right conditions. Events where people connect, ideas evolve and partnerships become stronger year after year.

Building Events like Assets

Most organisations can organise an event. Very few know how to build one that grows stronger every year.

That's the difference

We partner with organisations to create sustainable event ecosystems, events that don't simply happen once, but become recognised platforms that attract the right people, generate commercial value, strengthen communities and increase influence over time.Whether you're launching a new initiative or scaling an established event, our role is to help you build something that people want to return to year after year. That's where we come in because every community is different.

  • A university consortium has different ambitions from a government initiative.

  • An open source foundation faces different challenges from a technology company.

  • There is no template.

  • Instead, we become the partner each community needs.

  • Sometimes we shape strategy.

  • Sometimes we curate thought leadership.

  • Sometimes we secure funding.

  • Sometimes we build marketing campaigns.

  • Sometimes we produce world-class events.

  • Often, we do all of those things together.

  • Because we've learned that sustainable communities aren't built through isolated activities.

  • They're built through ecosystems.

Senior Expertise. Practical Partnership.

Our methodology combines strategic consulting, thought leadership, commercial development, sponsorship, community growth, marketing and international event delivery into one integrated approach.

This isn't a collection of services.

It's one ecosystem designed to reduce risk, accelerate growth and create long-term value.

You'll work directly with top level experienced experts, advising founders, CEOs, executive teams, universities, governments and global technology organisations.

Successful communities aren't built around isolated events, they are built around ecosystems , that's why organisations want to partner with us. We are NOT an events agency. Together, we combine expertise in strategy, thought leadership, sponsorship, commercial development, marketing, stakeholder engagement, financials and event production into one integrated methodology.

Juggling the balls of an event

Building a successful event isn't just about production.

It's about balancing dozens of moving parts:

  • creating a compelling vision

  • attracting the right audience

  • securing commercial partners

  • building thought leadership

  • managing stakeholders

  • growing the community

  • delivering an exceptional experience

When these elements aren't aligned, events struggle to grow. When they work together, they become ecosystems.

That's where our expertise lies. We work alongside your leadership team to identify what already works, where the gaps are and what needs to change to unlock sustainable growth. Sometimes that's refining the strategy. Sometimes it's strengthening sponsorship.

Sometimes it's repositioning the event. Sometimes it's building an entirely new ecosystem around it

We Build Sustainable Event Ecosystems in one integrated methodology.

The Outcome

Our clients don't come to us because they need another conference.

They come because they want to build something bigger.

A recognised annual gathering.

A stronger community.

Greater influence.

Long-term commercial sustainability.

A platform that attracts partners, thought leaders and decision-makers.

An event people look forward to every year.

We've helped organisations including Moodle, AWS, universities and public institutions create communities that continue to grow long after the event itself.

Because a great event is measured by what happens after everyone goes home.

That's the ecosystem we help build.

“I hired Diego Fabra so that Moodle Events would improve and become recognised, financially sustainable gatherings that grew year after year.” Martin Dougiamas, Moodle Founder .

If your community deserves a real event and you need a partner to make it happen, let’s talk.

We don’t do cold outreach and we don’t do hard sells. We have a conversation, we understand what your community needs, and we tell you honestly whether we’re the right fit. If we are, we build something remarkable together. We partner with organisations that believe collaboration creates better outcomes.

Our partners include:

Open source foundations

Technology projects

Universities and research institutions

Government and public sector organisations

Digital sovereignty initiatives

Technology companies investing in open ecosystems

Although each community is different, they all share one ambition:

To create something that lasts

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Community before commercialisation.

Every decision starts with the same question: does this strengthen the community? If the answer is no, we don't do it. Full stop. We've walked away from revenue. We'd do it again.

Long-term relationships over short-term transactions.

We don't want one-off sponsors or one-time attendees. We want people and organisations who believe in what open source is building and return year after year because we've earned it.

Trust before growth.

We've turned down opportunities that would have grown our revenue but compromised our relationships. We'd do it again. Trust is the thing we're actually building, not the events.

Authentic human connection.

People don't remember events. They remember conversations. They remember how they felt. Our greatest talent is creating environments where genuine human connection happens naturally.

Collaboration over competition

We don't compete with GitHub, Slack, or Discord. We don't want to. What they can't do is put people in a room together because that is exactly what we do. We complete each other.

Humility.

We don't own these communities. We serve them. The community was here before us and will be here long after. Our job is to leave it stronger than we found it.
